Save Grace

Title: Save Grace
Series: Blood Legion MC Book 2
Author: Rie Warren
Genre: MC Romance
Release Date: June 10, 2019

SLADE
I was a Marine. An operative. A hardcore soldier. Something brought me to the Blood Legion MC in New Orleans, and now I’m a biker. Whatever drew me here is bigger than my own baggage, and it isn’t the CIA, or Force-Recon, or anyone else.

There’s a pull. Her name is Grace. She’s missing, possibly because of the MC and our haphazard raid on the White Lair. Grace is my new mission. An op. Nothing more.

Until I finally locate the gorgeous woman who has built an even bigger barricade around herself than I have, and I realize I’ll never be free of her.

GRACE
I don’t want to be found. Not by anyone. Not anymore. Not after what’s been done to me against my will. As if enslavement at the White Lair wasn’t enough.

It seems I don’t have a choice. I have a new client. He’s dark-browed, big all over, and broody beyond belief. This Killian Slade doesn’t force me. He doesn’t ask me to strip. He pays extra each time and he doesn’t even touch me. When he finds out the truth, he’ll hate me as much as I hate myself. Yet I can’t stop the hot hammering of my pulse where I’d only ever been hurt and used before—there’s a yearning to be with this singular man.

I want to wake up from this nightmare, but the nightmare is just beginning.
Grace started to lift off my lap. “I shouldn’t have come here. I shouldn’t keep laying all this on you.”
“Whoa there.” Clasping her hand, I tugged her back down.
I framed her face with my palms. “You’re not to feel guilty. And you sure as hell don’t need to worry about me.”
“I don’t want you to think I’m using you.”
“Aw hell. Use me all you want.”
A different gleam misted across her hazel-flecked irises, and I realized whether I’d intended it or not the words had sounded like a sexual invitation.
Within seconds, the atmosphere shifted.
The chemistry changed.
The always-attraction soared to the forefront.
And I wanted to deny how much I wanted her. Now wasn’t the time for this sort of thing.
For fuck’s sake, Grace had come to me for solace.
Not sex.
But she stared at her fingers as they moved from my shoulders to my waist, and my heart clobbered in my chest. My pulse echoed right down to my groin.
She dragged the hem of my shirt up over my abs then reached beneath to swirl fingertips along flexing muscle and through rasping hair.
I grew distinctly hard against her ass, groaning when she wiggled in just the right way so my prominent bulge sandwiched in the cleft of her bottom.
“Shit.” Head craning back, I clamped my hands on the arms of the chair instead of around her hips.
“You said I could use you.” Grace drew her tongue up the straining cords of my throat then bit softly all along my jaw.
“Yeah.” I grunted . . . oh, fuck. “I did, but—”
“Sshh. You talk too much.” By the sound of her voice I knew she wore a teasing smile, because we both knew the truth about me and words.
As her lips trailed to the corner of my mouth, I damn near quaked in my skin.
“But, Grace—”
“This is what I need right now. I need you, Killian. Unless . . .”
You don’t want me?
Her unsaid words hung suspended in the air, and I raised my head to look at her.
“There is no unless. C’mere.”
Our mouths clashed with a soaring urgency, no tender hello about this rampant greed.
Within minutes of tortured kissing and roving hands, the fire already burned too hot.
Christ almighty. We hadn’t fucked since Thanksgiving.
One day with her was never gonna be enough.
I had us up on our feet and half my clothes thrown off before attacking her lips again. Goddamn, but she tasted sweet.
And she sure as hell was no shrinking violet.
A possessive gurgle issued from her throat when she ripped through the tabs on my jeans.
I shoved them and everything else off then tore at her clothing with just as much frustrated impatience.
My hard, hard cock lurched upright, brushing the underside of her belly, and heat goddamn spiked inside me like a fever.
With her bare, and in my rooms, and daylight spearing across the walls and over the floor in sunbursts, I tore my mouth from hers.
I dragged my ravaging hands from her body.
I stepped back, melting into a moment I wanted to hold onto forever.
Standing nude and luscious, Grace became dappled in sunlight falling all over her ripe body.
She reached out for me, but I stepped back again.
“Wait. Don’t move. Please,” I asked in an unfamiliar guttural timbre.
She started to shield her breasts, but I halted her.
“Don’t cover yourself. Don’t hide from me.”
Fearless then—how could she not be when desire stamped all over my body and aimed my rigid cock like a staff to the air—she shook out the glorious black waves of her hair so the thick tresses tumbled down her back and over her shoulders.
Staging closer, I barely coasted the calloused pads of my fingers across her satiny skin. Down her temples so her eyes shuttered briefly closed. Across her plump lips so she breathed in on a gasp.
I only made contact with my hands, murmuring non-words of praise that came from deep within my gut.
Along her neck, where her pulse fluttered just beneath the most silken skin.
Her head became lax, and her neck arched into my touch.
“What are you doing, Killian?” she whispered.
“Honoring you.”
Her breath hitched. Her lashes flickered.
Her moan caught in her throat.
Honoring Grace.
Because being with her, touching her . . . the fact she shared herself with me was an honor I didn’t deserve.

Hell, I was nothing but a used-up leatherneck, a gruff-voiced biker dude.

It’s not a wicked world that drives a man to sin, it’s a deranged mind. Baptized in dirty water by Satan himself, I’ve spent my whole life fighting the good fight, searching for the light in the darkness of insanity. Now, the light I’ve basked in for so long is finally dimming and the time has come for me to take my final bow before the curtain closes on my sanity.

After making a deal with the district attorney and providing my club with full immunity for the crimes we’ve committed, I have twenty-four hours to remind my wife, Reina, why she fell in love with a bastard like me before I turn myself in and break her heart.

But twenty-four hours isn’t enough.
Not for me and certainly not for the Devil.

Tragedy strikes, and my world implodes. It’s lights out for Jack and Reina and a man can’t survive without his sunshine. Engulfed in darkness, consumed by the crazy, I’m a weapon of mass destruction, ready to wreak havoc on the wicked world.
Word to the wise—proceed with caution, motherf*ckers.
The Bulldog is back!

.•´✶Excerpt•´✶ Parrish: Humor Me, Sunshine ©Copyright 2019 Janine Infante Bosco

I still remember the first time Jack ever took me for a ride on his motorcycle. I was in a bad place in my life, still reeling from the fire I survived and grieving the man who perished in those flames—the man who would’ve been my husband. Ironically, that man was also Jack’s brother, Daniel.
I never allowed myself to wonder what life might’ve been like if Daniel survived and Jack never walked into Dee’s diner. Back then I couldn’t picture loving anyone other than Daniel and I certainly never expected to fall in love with his brother. They were complete opposites in every sense. Daniel was a Federal Agent and Jack the ultimate outlaw.
Yet the moment Jack walked into Dee’s diner, something inside me knew my life was truly just beginning. The years that had come before Jack Parrish were just a prelude to one of the greatest love stories ever written. In between chapters, I realized I never knew love until Jack was the one loving me. His love has been the greatest gift of my life and while the tragic end of our story may be approaching, we still have a few more pages to fill.
To fill with love.
To fill with hope.
To fill with all the things that have kept us together, pushing through the darkness, overcoming every obstacle that’s threatened to ruin us. We have survived death, bombs, hearing loss, a mad mind and a cold world. We’ll survive goodbye too, for what choice do we have?
Part of me wants to yell at him and tell him to forget the deal, to choose me and our story over everything and anything but that would be asking Jack to change the core of who he is, and I won’t do that. I fell in love with a flawed outlaw challenged by an illness he can’t control and that’s who I will die loving. I lean my chin on his shoulder and wrap my arms tightly around his middle, leaning into the curve as he turns into our driveway. We come to a complete stop and he drops his boots onto the concrete, balancing the bike between his thick thighs as he kills the rumbling engine.
He drops the kickstand and covers my hands with his.
“Home sweet home,” he murmurs.
I wonder if he realizes how powerful those three words are and that my home isn’t the brick house standing in front of us but the man I’m clinging to.
Pressing a kiss to my cheek, he slides my hands away from his chest and dismounts from the bike. I watch, just as I have so many times before, as he pulls his fingerless gloves from his hands and shoves them into his back pocket. Next, he removes his helmet and hangs it from the handlebars before turning to me and offering his hand. It’s a scene we’ve played hundreds of times and one I never cared to cherish until this very moment.
Swallowing the lump in my throat, I place my hand in his and the callouses brushing against my palm are proof the years of riding have taken their toll on more than just his mind. Helping me off the bike, he removes my helmet and tucks it under his arm instead of hanging it next to his like he usually does.
“You never taught me how to ride,” I whisper hoarsely, lifting my eyes to his. It’s not something I ever wanted to do. In fact, it was more of a joke between us than it was ever a promise.
“Yeah, well we both know I’m a selfish fuck,” he mutters, pulling me into the crook of his arm. “I’m not sorry for it either,” he adds. “I don’t want you riding without me.”
Truth be told, I won’t ever ride again after today.
Not with him and certainly not by myself. I warmed up to the role of old lady, but I am far from a biker.
“My days of riding end with your days, Parrish,” I reply as we keep in stride with one another. Making our way up the stoop, neither of us pay any mind to the officers who tailed us to our home. Once we reach the door, he digs into his pocket for the keys. I stare at him, counting the lines on his face, committing them to my memory. He unlocks the door and pushes it open before turning to me.
“What?” I ask.
“Close your eyes,” he says.
“Jack—”
“Humor me, Sunshine.”
I don’t want to close my eyes because I don’t want to miss a single second, I have left with him, but I do as he asks. A second later he lifts me into his arms and I feel his lips gently graze mine.
“Now, open them and look at me,” he demands hoarsely.
Again, I do as he requests, wrapping my arms around his neck as I stare into his dark eyes.
“Never did carry you over the threshold,” he continues. “Seems a little overdue.”
This man.
Fractured and flawed.
I wished for this man—I prayed for him as a young girl. He may not have been cloaked in leather, and the horse he rode in on may not have been made of chrome, but nonetheless he’s still the prince in my fairytale.
He carries me over the threshold and gives me a hint of the smile I love. It’s a rare feat for my tortured prince and I’m just as spellbound by it as I was the day, he first gave it to me.
“I never deserved you,” he says as he touches his forehead to mine.
“That’s not true,” I whisper, lifting my hand to his cheek. He deserved so much more than me. He deserved peace and tranquility, both of which he’ll never get. Instead of walking towards peace he’ll forever run towards chaos.
“You changed me, Reina,” he murmurs. “You put your hand in mine and never looked back. You made me better than I was and gave me a reason to keep going when you gave me your heart,” he pauses for a beat, lifting his thumb to wipe away my tears as he swallows. “I’ve never had someone love me like you loved me,” he rasps.
“Don’t talk about us like we’re in the past,” I beg, bringing my hands to his cheeks. “I’ll always love you Jack Parrish. A love like ours doesn’t die.”
He nods, drawing in a deep breath.
“I love you, Reina. Don’t you forget that.”
“Never.”
With another peck to my lips, he sets me down on my feet and drags me into his strong embrace. The scent of his cologne mixed with leather and gasoline assaults my senses as I cling to him. I wish I could bottle it up so when I’m alone at night I’ll still be able to smell him.

Ugly Truths ©Copyright 2019 Janine Infante Bosco

Jack’s mood was ping-ponging. One minute he was the loving man on the cusp of signing his life away, the next he was a desperate creature, trying to prove his existence. If he could paint the world and leave his mark, I’m sure he would. Instead, he painted me, branding me in front of a faceless stranger in a parking lot.

It was nothing I pictured our final time together would be and yet, at that very moment, it was everything I needed. Desperation will make you insane and I’m starting to wonder if maybe Jack isn’t the only one losing his mind because I am not ashamed of what we did.

I’d do it again.

And again.

In front of thousands of eyes.

I’d paint the world too, letting everyone know I’m his.

The other half of Jack’s heart.

The broken piece he’ll leave behind in a few hours.

“Reina,” Jack calls from behind me, pulling me away from my thoughts. Shrugging my jacket off, I drape it over the back of one of the kitchen chairs before glancing over my shoulder at him. Leaning against the door frame, he crosses his arms and studies me for a moment.

“Are you okay?” he questions, narrowing his dark eyes.

“Of course,” I reply, turning around to completely face him. I comb my fingers through my hair and stare at him. “Why wouldn’t I be okay?”

“You barely said a word to Grace before she left,” he points out.

A frown ticks the corners of my mouth as I realize he’s right. I was too lost in my own head to pay much attention to Grace. I didn’t even bother to thank her for watching Danny or ask if she had heard back from her husband’s lawyer. Truthfully, I was relieved when I heard the door close behind her and for that I’m ashamed. In my defense, I’m terrified of the sun coming up and all I want is to lay next to my husband. I want to memorize the rhythm of his heartbeat and the way I perfectly fit in the crook of his arm.

I’ll have plenty of time to talk with Grace.

Plenty of chances to thank her for watching my son.

But I won’t have my husband.

“I’ll call her tomorrow to apologize,” I say as he pushes off the doorjamb and takes a step closer to me.

“Talk to me, Reina,” he pleads. “Tell me what’s going on inside that head of yours.”

I smile at his choice of words.

“Isn’t that my line?”

He cocks his head to the side as he reaches me and lifts his hand to my cheek.

“I love looking at you,” he says softly. “In the morning when you wake up. When you’re cooking and helping Danny with his homework. When you smile and fuck, I love watching you laugh too. After you come when you’re completely satisfied and look at me like I’m some kind of fucking king—that’s another look I love.”

Pausing, he lifts his other hand to my face and cups my cheeks as he leans his forehead against mine.

“But this look, the one you’re giving me right now, it’s fucking breaking my heart Reina.”

“What look?”

“Your light is dimming, Sunshine,” he whispers.

As much as I hate to admit it, he’s right. I told myself I wouldn’t fall to pieces, that I’d stay strong until he surrendered, but I’m losing my will. It’s all too much and I can’t help but feel like I’m grieving a living man. The very last thing I want is our final memories of one another to be these. I want us to remember each other as lovers and know the part of him that is me, will never die.

“I’m fine,” I tell him.

“You’re breaking.”

“No,” I argue, shaking my head free of his hold. “I don’t break, Parrish.”

The words sound weak to my own ears, but I refuse to show defeat. Smoothing a hand down his chest, I force a smile.

“Go check on Danny, give him a kiss and tuck him in for the night. I’m going to take a quick shower before I meet you in bed.”

“Reina—”

“Please, Jack,” I interrupt hoarsely. Something snaps deep inside of me and I lose my filter. “I haven’t asked you for a thing since you told me you were taking the deal. I didn’t beg you to change your mind or ask you to choose me. I stood by your side and performed the role of the supportive wife like it was my God given right. In reality, I’m mourning my husband and he’s standing right in front of me. Do you have any idea how that feels?” I cry, balling my fists angrily. “My heart is broken and in the back of my mind I’m wondering how I’m going to go on without you, but I can’t let that consume me because we’re not going to remember our love this way. We get one chance at goodbye, Jack. One shot at closing the story with a beautiful memory. Now, I’m asking you to pretend like you don’t see the cracks in my bravado. I want to remember how loved I felt every time my husband looked at me and how safe I felt in his arms. I want to remember his gruff voice in my ear and the scent of his cologne on my sheets. I want to remember you the way I saw and felt you since the day I met you. Give me that. Please, give me that memory.”

I wait for the regret to seep into my soul but the need to wish my words away doesn’t come. Not even when he takes a step backward and flinches as if I’ve smacked him across the face. We’re a lot of things but what we’re not are liars. Our marriage is full of ugly truths we’ve both accepted, this is just another added to the list.

“I didn’t realize you would be joining us today, Mrs. Parrish,” the district attorney, Matt Ritzer, says, tearing his eyes away from me to glance thoughtfully at my wife. Turning my head, I watch Reina lift her head and stare at the man looking to lock me up and throw away the key. Without responding, she tucks a golden strand of hair behind her ear and for a split second I forget we’re in a room full of attorneys and federal agents. I forget we’re teetering on the edge of a sentence and imagine fisting those locks as I bend her over the table and fuck her raw.
Raw and hard.
Wild and reckless.
Like a ruthless savage, branding her over and over so that long after those iron bars close in on me, Sunshine feels me between her legs.
“I go wherever he goes,” she says calmly, forcing me back to reality. Without looking at me, she reaches for my hand and laces our fingers together. “Until you take him away from me and I no longer can.”
To the room full of suits, her voice is strong—her words cunning but I hear the despair laced with every syllable and I feel her hand slightly tremble against mine. It forces my gaze downward. Dripping in faded ink and silver rings, my fingers intertwine with hers. Pale, dainty and perfectly manicured—that’s my Sunshine.
The beacon of light in my dark and cruel world.
Lifting my head, the voices around us fade and I just stare at her profile, cementing her delicate features to my failing mind. I remember the first time I saw her face, the first time she acknowledged my existence. Her dull eyes called to me, beckoning me to dig deeper and discover the heart and soul of their owner.
Her soul was broken, that I knew but, her heart—I never expected it to be as generous as it’s been and I sure as fuck never thought I’d be the bastard she gave it to. She saved me the trouble of stealing it because come hell or high water I would’ve taken it, anyway.
I’m selfish like that.
Always taking what I don’t deserve.
Dirtyin’ up the clean.
Tainting the pure.
Corrupting the innocent.
Playing God with everyone who comes into my life. Reina never stood a chance with me as her acting messiah but, fuck if I don’t love her. For every bit of wrong I’ve done in my life, I must’ve done something right for her to stick with me.
You can say it’s because she loves me but, I’m no fool and I’ve lived enough life to know love isn’t always enough. Another woman would’ve run for the fucking hills. Another woman would’ve committed my mentally deranged ass. And another woman wouldn’t be sitting next to me holding my hand as I break her heart and destroy our lives all for the sake of brotherhood.
It’s more than love.
It’s salvation.
It’s knowing you were born to complete the other half of someone. It’s finding the remedy to heal your fractured soul, to piece together the broken parts and make them whole.
“There’s always visitation,” my lawyer whispers to her. That’s when she breaks her stare with the district attorney and turns her eyes to me. I watch them fill with tears and I lean into her, lifting my free hand to her face. I pull her closer, touch her forehead to mine and give her what she needs to hear.
“You,” I murmur, taking us back to the beginning.
Back to basics when two words defined a lifetime.
After a beat, she nods slightly and returns the gift, giving me what I need to serve my impending sentence.
“Me,” she assures.
Always her.
Clearing his throat, Ritzer commands my attention. Releasing a growl, I pull back and slice my gaze to the man sitting across from me.
“We’ve gone over the deal legal counsel has proposed and are willing to negotiate the terms,” he says, sliding a stack of papers across the mahogany table. Before I can lift a finger, my lawyer reaches over and takes the proposal.
Still holding Reina’s hand, I lean back in my chair and watch intently as my five hundred dollar an hour lawyer skims the deal.
“I thought he said it was solid?” Reina whispers.
Squeezing her hand, I don’t respond. Instead, I clench my jaw and wait for someone to tell us what’s going on. The room goes silent as my lawyer continues to flip through the pages and then it happens…
The voice of my maker calls in the distance.
You’re fucked Parrish.
“Fifteen years?” Reina shrieks, releasing my hand. Her outburst drags me away from my mind and the two words that we weren’t expecting to hear.  “No one said anything about fifteen years,” she cries, turning her attention to me.
Not willing to see the heartache reflected in her eyes, I cowardly keep my attention focused on my attorney, hoping he pulls a rabbit out of his hat or creates a miracle of some kind. Jeffrey Holden has gotten rich over the last two decades but he’s also kept my ass out of prison.
Every dog has its day, Bulldog.
Closing my eyes for a moment, I struggle to fight the voice inside my head. That vile bitch who loves to drag me down to hell any chance she gets.
“Jack,” Reina croaks next to me, demanding answers. Blinking, I slice my eyes back to hers, watching as she angrily wipes at the tears falling down her cheeks. I know the thoughts running through her head because they’re exactly the same as mine.
Like me, she’s calculating the age our son will be when I’m released and already mourning the years I’ll miss of his life. My chest starts to ache as I picture the boy I’m leaving behind and the grown man he’ll be in fifteen years. I’m losing out on all the moments I never got to share with his brother who was taken from the world too soon.
Then, there’s also the promise to teach him all the things in life a boy needs to learn in order to become a man that going away will force me to break.

Reina’s also thinking about my daughter Lacey, wondering if her mind will withstand this latest blow to our family and acknowledging the fact that the baby, she’s carrying won’t know its grandpa. Again, I close my eyes and allow myself a moment to recall walking my daughter down the aisle, kissing her cheek and giving her hand to the man I trusted most in the world. My throat constricts with emotion just as it did on her wedding day and one cherished memory bleeds into another, taking me back to yesterday when she shared her sonogram photo with me.
I finally let myself look at Reina—really look at her. I memorize her features and pray to whatever god will listen that while I’m alone, rotting in my cell my mind will allow me to remember all the many expressions her beautiful face has gifted me over the years. May I always recall the sound of her laugh and the sweet fucking sounds she makes when she comes undone.
You’re going to lose her, Parrish.
She’ll never wait.
“Ten years,” my lawyer counters. “Or we go to trial and leave it up to a jury to decide.”
“That’s fine with me,” t Ritzer fires back. “We take it to court and your client can wind up doing anywhere between fifteen to life.”
“Jack,” Reina whispers, reaching for my face. “Are you with me?” she questions, searching my eyes for a sign that I haven’t drifted over to the darkness.
“I’m with you,” I rasp, wrapping my hands around her wrists.
“Your client is being charged with murder in the first degree. Now, we’re being generous here. The deal is fifteen years and full immunity for the club.”
Prying Reina’s hands off me, I glare at the suits sitting across from me.
“Do I need to remind you of my client’s medical condition?”
When in doubt, pull the crazy card.
“Twelve years, full immunity for the club and his private doctors are allowed to treat him inside,” Holden continues.
Mulling it over, the Ritzer leans back in his chair, quietly conferring with the two assholes sitting on either side of him. Knowing these men hold my fate in their hands is enough to get my blood boiling and the wheels turning inside my deranged head. I envision inflicting pain on them and tearing their world apart. I want their wives to cry at night and their kids to wonder when and if they’ll ever see their fathers again.
Once a fucking sinner, always a sinner.
“Thirteen years and full immunity for the club. As far as his medical treatment goes that will be up to the warden to decide. However, I assure you, Mr. Parrish will be treated for his condition.”
Thirteen years is better than fifteen and I turn my gaze toward my lawyer, waiting for him to agree or disagree. He looks at me then Reina and back to me, giving me a slight nod.
“Take the deal,” he says.
Thirteen fucking years.
One hundred and fifty-six months.
Four thousand, seven hundred and forty-five days.
Turning once more to my wife, I brush her hair away from her eyes and watch as she lifts her tear stained face.
This woman. This beautiful woman I never deserved, saved me. Day after day, night after night, she provided me with a steady place I could let go of my defenses. When the darkness consumed me, she brought the sunshine. Part of me wonders if she regrets it. If she looks at me and sees all the consequences loving me has brought to her life. After all, doesn’t every good woman eventually tire of giving their love to someone who does nothing but chip away at their spirit. It’s only a matter of time before my good woman realizes she was drowning trying to save a man who only kept pushing her head under the water with every bad decision he made.
“We’ll make it work,” she assures.

Always and Forever

Blurb

“Happily ever after is not a fairy tale, it’s a choice you make, and I’m so glad I made mine.”
Lust is what I felt when I first laid my eyes on Quill.
Desire is what stared back at me through his piercing blue eyes.
Love is what I feel for the man that brought me back to life, and handed me my future.

Today is the day I say I do. I have said these words before, but somehow, this time, there’s no comparison to how I feel about saying them today. I’m getting married to a man that owns me body and soul, a man who taught me that sometimes we need to take a leap of faith, and that if we fall, we do so knowing we did it with our hearts.
Standing before him, our child in my womb nestled between us, I have never felt so much happiness as I do on this day. Life is perfect. I’m getting married to a man who loves me such a fierceness, he literally takes my breath away. A man that is a leader, would put his life on the line for those he loves, and who has made us his family.

So today I’m going to put my faith in Quill, and know that when I say I do, I will be his, and he will be mine. Always, and forever.
