“Time might heal all wounds, but the perfect love erases the scars.”

My bodyguard:

She’s beautiful

She’s older

She’s dangerous

She’s mysterious

She’s only allowed to protect my body, yet her handcuffs would look much better on her especially in my bed.

My client:

He’s gorgeous

He’s younger

He’s cocky

He’s sneaky

He’s only allowed to say ‘help me’, yet the language he speaks starts with F and ends with me.

Escape to Paradise

Summer Vacation Romance Series

Allison (Ali) Dow, thirty-two, is a driven corporate attorney who harbors the worst fear of commitment known to man (or woman). With two failed engagements under her belt, the last thing she wants is the distraction of another man unable to handle her professional success.

Jace Bailey, thirty-three, is the new head of security for Tech Savvy Apps, Inc. After ten years as a member of the military police, Jace had always planned to return to the family business once he’s discharged. However, when a good friend and former mentor recommends him for a job in corporate security, he jumps at the chance to remain a ‘protector’.

His first major off-campus assignment requires him to escort his employer’s corporate attorney to the island paradise of Grand Cayman to close a major business deal. The job should be simple until he realizes the attorney in question is the woman known around the TSS watercooler as ‘Viper’. Unfortunately, their routine business trip turns into a game of cat and mouse with a handful of corporate spies.

Can these two distinctly different individuals navigate their growing attraction while still keeping themselves and those around them safe? And, once they’re back on their home turf, will they find a way to make their relationship work, despite their differences?

Paradise BB1

Jace took his place along the far wall of the hotel ballroom. He tugged at the collar of his white dress shirt, and brushed his hand across the jacket of his tuxedo. As uncomfortable as the monkey suit felt, he imagined it would have been worse if he’d rented instead of bought. The finely tailored rig had set him back a pretty penny, but he had a feeling it wouldn’t be the last time he’d have to wear the darned thing. Who knew, when you entered the private sector as a member of the security staff, you’d be called upon to attend one fancy affair after another?

About fifty feet to his left, a hulk of man had also pinned himself to his assigned station. Security for one of the other companies in attendance, no doubt. The poor sap looked as out of place as Jace felt.

All the movers and shakers of the high-tech world were here. Some from as far away as Asia. This symposium had been postponed twice in the past month because of security concerns. Yet, after consultation with the local FBI, they’d finally pulled it off. All that was left was this final black-tie dinner.

Everywhere you looked, there were elegantly dressed people. Some were owners, some shareholders which—he supposed—were also owners. Others were the upper echelons of corporate management. Even Nate was seated among the elite, sharing table space with TSA owner, Bill Carnegie, and Carnegie’s latest trophy wife.

She was there too. As much as Jace tried to ignore her. Allison Dow, attorney extraordinaire, and the most aggravating woman he’d ever met. Also, one of the most beautiful and intelligent. He hated contradictions but… there she was directly in his line of sight.

The Viper. A rightfully earned nickname for her sharp wit and dogged determination. Allison Dow was willing to do whatever she had to in order to close an important contract negotiation. Even it meant getting down in the muck with those less scrupulous than her. If talk around the TSA watercooler was accurate, nobody ever got there first. Unless she let them.

As if she could feel his gaze on her, she stood and swiveled, her dark gaze scanning the expanse of the large room. She’d shed her usual business suit and prim pastel blouse in favor of a slinky little number that likely cost more than a half-dozen tuxedos. She’d also ditched her black-rimmed glasses, possibly in favor of contacts.

Free of its usual pinned up style, her long, silky chestnut hair feathered across her slim shoulders with a few strands daring to sneak forward and fall into her… um… cleavage. Jace swallowed and shifted his gaze to the opposite side of the ballroom. Somewhere—anywhere—away from Allison Dow’s unexpectedly alluring appearance.

I stalk my prey, never taking my eyes off the target.
I’m a sniper by trade, but I’m so much more than that.
My rifle is an extension of me.
I am the bullet.
I am a Hunter of Gunmen.

I was born a protector and I’d die that way.
Leaving the military didn’t change that. It’s why I started my business, Owens Protective Services.
My men are my family, my brothers.
And the people I protect are my mission.
As for the tangos…sometimes you have to flush the toilet of humanity.

But even when protecting clients, I’ve never put myself on the line for anyone like I have for her.
She keeps her secrets close to the vest, much like I keep my emotions.
I’ve always been able to compartmentalize a job, but with her, everything’s out of control. I can’t decide if I can trust her or not, especially when she stumbles into the middle of a job. She seems innocent, but aren’t they always?

I see the scared woman backing away from anyone that comes near her. I see the urge to run. But I also see the kitten with claws, ready to come out fighting if anyone dares come after her.

Deep down, I know she’s my destiny.
My reason for fighting.
I will uncover her secrets, and then I’ll do my job, taking out anyone that dares threaten her.
I’m a stay at home mom that loves to read. Some of my favorite titles are Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Horatio Hornblower. I started writing when I was trying to come up with suggestions on ways I could help bring in some extra money. I came up with the idea that I could donate plasma because you could earn an extra $500/month. My husband responded with, “No. Find something else. Write a blog. Write a book.” I didn’t think I had anything to share on blog that a thousand other mothers hadn’t already thought of. I decided to take his challenge seriously and sat down to write my first book, Jack. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed writing. From there, the stories continued to flow and I haven’t been able to stop. I hope my readers enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. Between reading, writing, and taking care of three small kids, my days are quite full.

Series: The Protective Series (standalones)
Author: S. Jones
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: February 1, 2022
Cover Design: M E Kusel Steamy Designs

I had the perfect life until tragedy struck, turning my world upside down.
Now I’m focused on picking up the pieces and starting over.
Easier said than done, right?
The last thing I needed was the lingering stare from the sexy-as-sin homicide detective. And those soft touches, making me feel things I wasn’t ready for.
I tried to keep things casual, but lines started to blur, and instead of pushing him away, I found myself pulling him closer.
I wanted to pretend that his kisses weren’t bringing me back to life. I tried to hide the smile that would break out whenever he entered a room.
I convinced myself that nothing was happening because he was the type of man a woman like me tried to avoid…. sexy, charming, and way too confident for his own good.
Losing my first love almost destroyed me. I wouldn’t survive it a second time.
So, when the unexpected happened, and our relationship was put to the test, I found my newly built life hanging in the balance.
And it might just turn out to be more complicated than I can handle.
Perhaps I should have listened to that little voice in my head after all.
He told me I could have whatever I want, but why does the one I want have to be the one I can’t have?
